Boston College hockey players face alcohol charges after Green Line collision.
Three Boston College hockey players are among seven students facing charges following a collision between an SUV and a Green Line train early Sunday in Brighton.
The driver of the Jeep was identified by the MBTA as Jane Stanton, 19. The passengers were identified as Reilly Corbett, 18, Tina Dilandry, 18, Parker Milner, 19, Elizabeth Motley, 19, Philip Samuelsson, 18 and Patrick Wey, 19.
The hockey players are all freshman who played on BC's recent national championship team, according to the college's website. They are Milner, a goalie, Wey, a defenseman, and Samuelsson, a defenseman. A spokesman for BC athletics wasn't immediately available this morning.
A spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said today that all seven will be summonsed into Brighton Municipal Court at a date set by the clerk magistrate's office.
The Jeep tried make a U-turn across the tracks on Commonwealth Avenue near Greycliff Road and hit an outbound train heading for BC shortly after midnight, according to Joe Pesaturo, a spokesman for the MBTA.
The driver and three passengers were taken to city hospitals with neck and back injuries that were not life-threatening, he said. Corbett, Milner and Motley ran from the crash scene, according to Pesaturo, but were identified during the investigation.
Inside the Jeep, police found opened and unopen cans of beer and an unopened bottle of vodka.
BC spokesman Jack Dunn said on Sunday that BC is cooperating with investigators and the students could face sanctions on campus.
