Best NHL Rookie in 2011

Best NHL Rookie in 2011

Earlier this month the NHL announced that Carolina Hurricanes forward, Jeff Skinner was named Best Rookie of the Month for January 2011.

The Markham, Ontario native had 14 points, (9G 5A), in 14 games for the Canes during the month.

The 18-year-old, who is the youngest player in the NHL, also currently leads all rookies in scoring. Skinner was recently named to the NHL All Star Game and was the youngest player to ever participate, edging out Steve Yzerman for that honor.

The rookie has been a very busy man for the past few weeks and the accolades just keep coming. He's not sneaking up on anyone now.
